Salifu Sesay Perseverance Scholarship Fund
The Salifu Sesay Perseverance Scholarship fund is intended to honor Salifu Sesay’s memory by assisting students who have demonstrated perseverance in overcoming significant challenges and are pursuing higher education.
The students eligible for assistance shall be graduating high school seniors or current college students who will be enrolled at a two- or four-year colleges/universities or technical schools. Students must also meet the following requirements:
- Continue to attend classes and keep a 3.3 grade point average.
- Submit a 500-word essay that describes how they have persevered and overcome challenges to be successful in school.
- Demonstrate financial need.
The scholarship amount will be a minimum of $1,000 annually, to be paid in two equal installments, subject to the availability of funds in the Scholarship Fund. Recipients are eligible for automatic renewal for up to 4 years, provided the student continues to meet criteria.
